The following material types have been chosen for the assessment and characterization of MBLs for the application in multi-layered structural turnout coats. They are industry standard for protective textiles and are the highest benchmark for compliance standards. The materials chosen to benchmark against the mycelium for testing are the gold standard layers used for the CFA uniforms to provide a balance of protection and comfort.
